George Washingmachine & Quartet

Feeling all strung out? Life in a spin? Well then let the dreamy music of George Washingmachine wash away the dust of everyday life. When it comes to knuckle-busting feats on a violin, George doesn’t play second fiddle to anyone! From Sydney, George Washingmachine is a genuine entertainer. A violinist who sings, a blues guitarist who is also a visual artist.

He has played all the major festivals around Australia (including an ambassadorial role at The Clarence Jazz Festival in Hobart) and regularly tours in Europe appearing at festivals in France, Germany, Switzerland &The UK.

He’s appeared in Cuba at The Havana International Jazz Festival and is appearing in ‘The Conductor & The Clown’ alongside composer, conductor George Ellis with The Canberra Symphony Orchestra.

Ellis’s follow up the Maestro & The Magician appeared at The Joan Sutherland Centre.

This April saw him at The Singapore Jazz Festival and a BRAVO tour on The Radiance Of The Seas.

In 2019, George toured the USA. He performed in New Orleans, New York & was the jazz violin teacher in residence at Swinging Hot Strings Festival in Port Townsend, north of Seattle.

Late 2019 toured with John Waters in his Bob Dylan Revisited. Other than that he is busy in his studio making art pieces.
