Seven-time GRAMMY winning jazz trumpet superstar Randy Brecker will be touring the UK in late September, 2023, performing with California tenor saxophonist Tod Dickow and the Bay Area jazz trio Charged Particles, playing the compositions of Randy’s brother, another jazz superstar, the late saxophonist Michael Brecker, who passed away in 2007 at the age of 57.

This tour celebrates a CD of Michael Brecker’s compositions that Dickow and Charged Particles released on Summit Records ("Live at the Baked Potato!), which received critical acclaim, including:

"Favorite Jazz Releases of 2021” Jazz Times Magazine

"Best Jazz CDs of 2021" Jazz Journalists Association

"Ten 2021 Albums Worth a Listen” San Jose Mercury News

"Top Ten 2021 Jazz Releases" 16th Annual Jazz Critics Poll

"Staggering in its authenticity.” Bill Milkowski, author of Michael Brecker’s Biography

''Exciting, satisfying stuff” Downbeat Magazine

"A tight unit that keeps the band sound exciting throughout”Jazz Podium

"Tod Dickow has captured the magic and brilliance of Brecker.” L.A. Jazz Scene

"Tod Dickow is one of the best saxophonists in the world.” Jazz Life Magazine

As is true for so many other jazz tenor players, Tod’s playing and composing are powerfully influenced by Michael Brecker.  Tod has captured the essence of Brecker’s spirit on the instrument, making Tod a wonderful artist to perform Brecker’s music.

Of the CD, Randy Brecker said:

"Smoking and intense from beginning to end, the band has internalized Mike and his music to an impressive degree of accuracy and feeling!  I found myself pinching my arm to remind myself that Mike is sadly no longer with us. You find yourself jumping into Mike’s mindset listening to this CD, transported to another time."
